Job Responsibility

• To provide scientific and technical support/guidance to activities involved in identifying developable drug candidates, form selection, physicochemical characterization of new drug candidates, and development of toxicology and Phase I clinical formulations. 
• To identifies the best formulation strategy for rapidly and successfully moving a new compound into Phase I clinical testing and enabling first-in-human formulation production by clinical supplies organization (or third party manufacturer). 
• To provide coaching and personal development opportunities to staff in scientific as well as managerial areas.

Skills Required

Knowledge of basic chemistry and pharmaceutical principles in understanding the physicochemical properties of new drug entities and how they relate to the drug’s ultimate in vivo disposition. Hands on experience with routine analytical instrumentation, such as HPLC, DSC, TGA, UV spectrophotometer, etc., and experience with physicochemical characterization and formulation development are desired. Ability to independently plan, design, implement and summarize research experiments and provide scientific leadership. Excellent written and oral communications as well as having good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with teams in a dynamic environment are essential. Hands on computer skills and knowledge of statistics for experimental design and data treatment are important.
